About our club
Over 40 Years of Community, Cricket and Connection
Quinns Rocks Junior Cricket Club was founded in 1984 with a simple vision—to give local children the opportunity to play cricket in their own community.
When Jim and Leila Buckingham moved to Quinns Rocks, they discovered there was no junior cricket club for local families. Rather than accept it, they decided to create one. With Jim serving as President and Leila taking on the roles of Secretary, Treasurer and Registrar, the club was built from the ground up through the dedication of volunteers and a shared passion for junior cricket.
What started with one family's vision has grown alongside the Quinns Rocks community into a vibrant, family-focused club, creating opportunities for thousands of children to discover a love of cricket through the dedication of volunteers and the support of local families.

Built by Volunteers
Quinns Rocks Junior Cricket Club has always been driven by volunteers.
From our founding committee through to the many presidents, coaches, team managers and committee members who have followed, every generation has contributed to shaping the club we know today. Their commitment has helped create a welcoming environment where children can develop not only their cricket skills, but also confidence, friendships and a lifelong love of the game.
Their legacy continues to inspire everything we do.
Growing with Our Community
Over the past four decades, the club has continued to evolve alongside our community.
From introducing programs for our youngest players through Cricket Blast, expanding junior playing opportunities, strengthening coaching standards and creating more pathways for girls to participate, our focus has always remained the same—to provide every child with the opportunity to play, learn and belong.
In 2015, Quinns Rocks Junior Cricket Club proudly re-established itself as an independent junior club, allowing a renewed focus on junior development, community engagement and the club culture that continues to define us today.

A Club to be proud of
Throughout our history, we've celebrated premierships, individual achievements and club milestones. We've also been honoured to receive recognition, including consecutive Community Club of the Year awards.
While these achievements are important, our greatest success has always been the community we've built. Every season brings new friendships, new families and new memories, while many former players now return as coaches, volunteers and parents of the next generation of Stingrays.
Looking to the Future
Today, Quinns Rocks Junior Cricket Club remains committed to providing a fun, safe and inclusive environment where every child can enjoy cricket, develop confidence and feel a sense of belonging.
As we look to the future, we continue to build on the vision of Jim and Leila Buckingham and the countless volunteers who have helped shape our club over the past 40 years.
We're proud of where we've come from and excited for the generations of young cricketers and families still to come.
