How about sausage sizzle?

After Cricket Blast each Friday, families are invited to stay for our affordable sausage sizzle and family time.

From 6:30–7:00 pm, children can continue playing while parents relax, meet other families and enjoy being part of the QRJCC community.

It's one of our favourite traditions and a wonderful way to get to know other families.

For most other game‑day matches, there’s a good chance the sausage sizzle will be firing — but it’s always a coach‑and‑manager call on the day.

What happens at training?

Training sessions are designed to be fun, engaging and age-appropriate

Players can expect:
• Warm-up activities
• Batting
• Bowling
• Fielding drills
• Game-based activities
• Team discussions

Our accredited volunteer coaches lead all sessions, creating a safe, supportive and positive learning environment.

What about parents?

Parents and carers are an important part of the QRJCC community. As a volunteer-run club, we rely on the support of our families to help create a positive and enjoyable experience for all players.

There are many ways to get involved throughout the season, including:

  • Watching and assisting at training sessions

  • Helping with ground set-up and pack-down

  • Providing fruit or lollies for match days (via team rosters)

  • Assisting with scoring during games (training and support provided)

  • Helping in the canteen during Cricket Blast sessions

  • Supporting club events and community activities

  • Coaching or managing a team (resources and guidance provided)

Every contribution, whether it's a few minutes each week or taking on a larger role, helps our club thrive and ensures our players can enjoy a fun, safe and welcoming cricket experience.
